Bible Study Outlines

Bible study outlines will help guide you through your own personal Bible studies on a wide variety of topics.  Why are these outlines so important?  The apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 5.17:  “Do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”  We are to know what God expects of us.  To ignore the will of God is foolish.  Where can the will of God be found?  If you want to know what the will of the Lord is, you need to study my Bible.  These outlines will help you do that.

To Timothy in 2 Timothy 2.15, Paul wrote to “be diligent to show yourself approved, a worker who does need to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth.”  When I open up my Bible and with great effort seek to understand what the will of the Lord is, taking a look at the context, considering the definition of key words, and then based on what I have learned, I put these principles to work in my life and become the person God wants me to be, then I will have God’s approval.  That makes my Bible study extremely important, both my personal bible study as well as my attendance and participation in the bible studies in various group formats.

In Acts 17, we are reading about Paul who comes the city, Thessalonica.  The first thing he did was go into a synagogue.  The word "synagogue" is a transliteration of the Greek word "sunagoge."

  •   "Sun" is the first part of the word, and is means "together."
  • "Goge" is the second part of the word and it means, "to go."

The word "synagogue" means “to go together.”  A synagogue was no more than a place where the Jews would go together to study the Bible, specifically, the Old Testament.  It was, for all intents and purposed, a bible class.  Acts 17.1-5 tells us that Paul made his way to this synagogue in Thessalonica, and for three Saturdays, they studied their bibles together.
