Bible Faith in 228 verses

Bible faith is faith that is found in the Bible.  The way it is used in the Bible and the way it is used by our friends in conversation are very different.  Below you will find a list of every passage in the Bible that uses the word "faith."

In these verses on Bible faith, you will find that the word "faith" is found in 228 verses in the New King James.  In selecting these verses, I looked up the original Greek word "pistis" that is translated as "faith."  Then I did a search on every verse that used this original word.  I then grouped the verses by book.

You will find that the word "faith" is used in the Bible is essentially two ways.

  1. Sometimes it is used the idea of having a belief in something.
  2. Occasionally, you will find the word "faith" referring to the system of beliefs that we know as Christianity.  In these cases, it is called "the faith" as it is found in Jude 3.

Of interest, the word "pistis" translated as "faith" is not found in the gospel of John.  However, the word for "believe" is found more times in the book of John than in any other book of the New Testament.  I chose to not include the verb form of the word "pisteuo" which is translated as "believe" as it would increase the number of verses listed to more than 400.
